Priest Quorum Duty to God

With the announcement of young men being able to serve a mission at the age of 18 at General Conference, the Priest Quorum will have a special focus on mission preparation in their DTG activities.  Each Priest should have his own "Preach My Gospel" manual to work from in addition to his DTG and "For the Strength of Youth" manuals.  Each week it will be required that a Priest Quorum member bring each of these resources and his scriptures.

The Priests will be encouraged to develop lessons and practice sharing messages and their testimonies.  The Priests also have opportunities to visit Ward members in a companionship at the direction of the Bishop.  We will also focus on studying from printed scriptures.  Electronic devices are discouraged during church.

Please let the YM Presidency know if your son does not have any resource listed above or if you should have any questions.

Thank you,
Br. Schmidtke

Youth Combined Activities

Recently, the youth participated in the combined activity "Fear Factor".  The youth worked in teams in such challenges as whoopi cushion relay, lemonade relay, baby food feast, and worm pie eating contest.  Each month combined activities are planned for the first Wednesday.  All youth are welcome to enjoy one another's company and feel of the Spirit.

DTG Progress

Each month the Aaronic Priesthood Quorums meet to discuss their DTG progress.  The YM's Presidency encourages parents to encourage their YM to continue studying the DTG program.  Once a month the quorums will receive a lesson topic from the program, but in almost all cases the section cannot be finished.  Ask you son what topic has been discussed at the DTG night.  Each DTG lesson makes a great Family Home Evening topic and family activity.

If you have any questions about your son(s) DTG progress, please do not hesitate to contact one of the YM Presidency members to assist you.
